Des exercices corrigés d’anglais de 6e en trois parties : traduire le vocabulaire des arts et former le nom de l’artiste (painter, musician, photographer), compléter la position d’un élément dans une image, choisir entre looks, like, bright, dark et probably, puis parler d’une chanson (fast, slow, lyrics, chorus).

Cas 1Le vocabulaire des arts et les artistes

Réflexe — activité / personne / œuvre ; -er, -ist, -ian ; play the + instrument. Revoir la méthode →

Exercice 1★★★Facile

Traduis en anglais (avec l’article).

  1. un chanteur →
    sing → a singer.
  2. un groupe (de musique) →
    a band.
  3. un dessin →
    draw → a drawing (a drawer, c’est surtout un tiroir !).
  4. la batterie →
    the drums, toujours au pluriel.
  5. une pièce de théâtre →
    a play = une pièce de théâtre.
  6. une affiche →
    a poster.
Exercice 2★★★Moyen

Écris le nom de la personne qui pratique cet art (avec a ou an).

  1. paint →
    a painter (-er).
  2. music →
    a musician (-ian).
  3. dance →
    a dancer (le -e + r).
  4. photography →
    a photographer.
  5. art →
    an artist (-ist, et an devant la voyelle).
Exercice 3★★★Difficile

Chaque phrase contient une erreur : récris-la correctement.

  1. I play guitar and my brother plays the football. →
    play the + instrument, play + sport sans article : I play the guitar and my brother plays football.
  2. Turner is a famous English painting. →
    Turner est une personne : painter.
  3. My cousin is actress. →
    Un métier prend a / an : an actress.
  4. Andy Warhol was a famous British artist. →
    Andy Warhol était American (américain), grande figure du pop art.

Cas 2Décrire un tableau ou une affiche

Réflexe — I can see… ; in / on / at + position ; bright, dark ; looks + adjectif, looks like + nom ; maybe, probably. Revoir la méthode →

Exercice 4★★★Facile

Complète la description de l’image avec le mot manquant (position).

  1. In the (au premier plan), there is a small boat.
    in the foreground.
  2. In the (à l’arrière-plan), I can see mountains.
    in the background.
  3. the left, there is an old tree.
    on the left / on the right.
  4. The moon is at the (en haut) of the picture.
    at the top.
  5. In the (au milieu) of the picture, a woman is reading.
    in the middle / in the centre.
  6. The artist's name is at the (en bas), on the right.
    at the bottom.
Exercice 5★★★Moyen

Complète avec un mot : looks, like, bright, dark ou probably (chaque mot sert une fois).

  1. The colours are : yellow, orange and red.
    Des couleurs vives : bright.
  2. This big rock looks an elephant.
    looks like + nom : like.
  3. The man tired: his eyes are closed.
    looks + adjectif : looks (il a l’air).
  4. The sky is : there is a storm.
    Un ciel sombre : dark.
  5. It's a Sunday: the shops are closed.
    Hypothèse après be : probably.
Exercice 6★★★Difficile

Phrases 1 à 3 : traduis en anglais. Phrase 4 : corrige l’erreur.

  1. Au premier plan, je vois un chien. →
    In the foreground, I can see a dog.
  2. C'est peut-être un marché. →
    Hypothèse : Maybe it’s a market.
  3. À mon avis, ce tableau est étrange. →
    In my opinion, this painting is strange.
  4. In the picture, I can to see a horse. →
    Après can, la base verbale sans to : I can see a horse.

Cas 3Parler d’une chanson

Réflexe — slow / fast ; the melody, the chorus ; I can hear… ; the lyrics are about… ; The Beatles are… Revoir la méthode →

Exercice 7★★★Facile

Traduis le mot entre parenthèses.

  1. It's a song: I want to dance! (rapide)
    fast = rapide.
  2. I love the of this song. (paroles)
    the lyrics = les paroles.
  3. The is easy to sing: everybody knows it! (refrain)
    the chorus = le refrain.
  4. It's a song: it's calm and quiet. (lente)
    slow = lent.
Exercice 8★★★Moyen

Complète avec un mot.

  1. The Beatles from Liverpool.
    The Beatles est un nom pluriel : are.
  2. The lyrics about friendship.
    lyrics est pluriel : are.
  3. The Beatles formed their band in Liverpool in .
    Les Beatles sont formés à Liverpool en 1960.
  4. « Here Comes the Sun » was written by George .
    George Harrison l’a écrite et la chante.
Exercice 9★★★Difficile

Traduis en anglais.

  1. C'est une chanson pop lente. →
    Les adjectifs avant le nom : It’s a slow pop song.
  2. J'entends un piano et une batterie. →
    I can hear a piano and drums.
  3. Les paroles parlent de la mer. →
    The lyrics are about the sea.
  4. Cette chanson me donne envie de danser. →
    make + personne + base verbale : This song makes me want to dance.
