- Branches : physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering ; a physicist (≠ physician = médecin).

Invent or discover?
- to invent ce qui n'existait pas → an invention, an inventor : Bell invented the telephone.
- to discover ce qui existait déjà → a discovery (discoveries), a discoverer : Newton discovered gravity.
- to design, to develop, to patent, to build, to test, to prove.

Arguing
- advantages / benefits / pros ≠ disadvantages / drawbacks / cons.
- On the one hand… on the other hand… (toujours par deux) ; although, whereas.
- It allows us to + BV / It prevents us from + V-ing / It makes life easier.
- Conclure : all things considered, in my view, I'm convinced that, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

- Experiment = expérience scientifique ; experience = expérience vécue ; research et evidence sont indénombrables.
- Invent (ce qui n'existait pas) → invention ; discover (ce qui existait) → discovery.

- Progress est indénombrable : to make progress ; a breakthrough = une avancée majeure.
