Document 1. Extract from a blog by Finn, 15, from Belfast.
« Three months ago, my family moved from Belfast to a tiny village in the west of Ireland, because my mum got a job in a hospital there. At first, I hated it: there was no cinema, no bus after six o'clock, and my new school had only ninety pupils. I missed my friends and I spent my evenings on my phone. Then, in October, my neighbour Mr Doyle asked me to help him on his farm on Saturdays. I learnt to drive a tractor, I looked after the sheep and I earned some pocket money. Now I have two new friends, Ciara and Rory, who live on the next farm, and we go surfing on Sundays when the waves are good. I still miss the city sometimes, but honestly, I don't want to go back. Next summer, my old friends from Belfast are coming to stay: I can't wait to show them my new life. »

1. Why did Finn's family leave Belfast, and when did they move?
2. Give three reasons why Finn hated the village at first.
3. True or false? Justify each answer with a quotation from the text: a) Finn works on the farm every day. b) Finn wants to return to Belfast.
4. What is going to happen next summer, and how does Finn feel about it? Answer with a full sentence.

Document 2. Programme of an English language summer camp in Brighton, sent to the participants.

Note: bring a packed lunch on Wednesday. The final test lasts 90 minutes.

1. How many mornings of English lessons are there? At what time does the London trip start, and how long does it last?
2. Which evening activity starts the latest, and on which day is the evening free?
3. A participant asks: « Do I need to bring lunch on Thursday? » Answer with a full sentence, using the information in the table.
4. Write two sentences for a friend who missed the meeting: one about Friday morning with « How long », and one about the Wednesday trip with « be going to ».

2. Réponds par une phrase complète, en adaptant la personne : « Have you ever been to Scotland? » (non) / « What did your parents give you for your birthday? » (a bike)
3. Conjugue au temps qui convient : « I (know) ___ Sam since primary school. » / « Right now, the pupils (take) ___ a test. » / « Two years ago, we (visit) ___ Dublin. »
4. Corrige les quatre erreurs : « My cousin have sixteen years, she live in london and she is agree with me. »

1. Écris en lettres : 14 / 40 / 19 / 90, puis indique sur quelle syllabe tombe l'accent de 14 et de 40.
2. Traduis ces faux amis : actually, eventually, a library, to attend, sensible.
3. Classe ces connecteurs en trois groupes (ordre / cause-conséquence / opposition) : then, because, however, first, so, whereas, finally, that's why.
4. Écris en chiffres (format 00:00) : « a quarter past six », « twenty to eleven », « half past twelve », « ten past nine ».

You have just spent a week at the Brighton summer camp (document 2). Write an e-mail (80 words minimum) to your English teacher to tell her about it. Follow the four steps.

1. Open the e-mail correctly and say where you were and for how long (preterite).
2. Describe two activities you did, using « first » and « then », and say which one you preferred and why (« because »).
3. Give your opinion on the English lessons with an opinion phrase and one sentence containing « but » or « however ».
4. Say what you are going to do to keep practising your English, and close the e-mail politely.
