Le texteMy grandmother Rose lives in a small village in Devon, and I visit her every August. She is eighty, but she doesn't need anybody to help her: she does everything herself! In the morning she goes to the market. Everybody knows her there and the sellers keep the best strawberries for her. She buys a lot and she gives half of them to her neighbour, Mr Potts, because his wife can't walk very well. In the afternoon, Rose teaches me to bake scones. She shows me the recipe, but she never lets me read it: « Watch me and copy me! » she says. When my parents phone us, she tells them that I'm a fantastic cook — it isn't true, but I love her for that. On Sundays, she takes me to the sea. We swim, then we eat fish and chips on the beach and we share them with the seagulls. I don't want to leave her at the end of the month, but she always says: « Don't cry, I'll see you at Christmas! »
